Valencia eyes a win despite internal crisis

Male’, MALDIVES – Defending champions Valencia will face a tough test against league leaders VB sports in the last game of round one. Valencia, who had been phenomenal in the last stage of last year’s football season, hits series of blows this season and they are without coach Dzurijack when face VB today but caretaker boss (Binma) Abdullah Waheed is expecting to win the game.
“We have gone through several problems this year but the players are in a mood to win today’s game” Binma said.
Valencia, who terminated their contract with first choice keeper Rameez after he was found guilty of match fixing, will be with reserve keeper but Binma said they don’t give up their hope.
Binma’s major concern is number of key players, such as captain Jameel and Assad are injured.
“We have several injury problems. Assad and Jameel are injured but we will use them today” He said.
Valencia has also terminated their contract with Dzurjack, who helped them to win Dhivehi League and President’s cup last year, due to financial problems.
Valencia earned only five points in five games so far in the league and lies in the sixth position of seven team table.
